Ewan Bowlby is a writer and PhD student at the Institute for Theology, Imagination and the Arts (ITIA), where he is researching how the arts can be used in new forms of emotional and spiritual care for cancer patients. He is a Centre Ambassador for the Maggie’s Cancer Care charity and has worked with Maggie’s to design and trial new spiritual care resources that use popular artforms to help cancer patients process and express their experiences. Ewan is editor-in-chief of the ITIA journal Transpositions and has published peer-reviewed academic articles in the fields of Narrative Medicine, Medical Humanities, Television Studies, and Literature and Theology.
